Global Eng. Deans Council @GEDCouncil/@Airbus Diversity Award Deadline Extended to Sept. 5, 2016

DEADLINE EXTENDED to 5 Sept. 2016! Dear Friends,  We are just returning from the 123rd Annual Conference of the American Society for Engineering Education in New Orleans, and the information below was sent this morning, 30 June, 8:15 AM EST, from the GEDC Team:

The application deadline for the 2016 GEDC Airbus Diversity Award has been extended to Monday 5th September 2016.

Given the large number of requests for a deadline extension and the level of activity taking place across many campuses right now, Airbus Group and the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC) have agreed to extend the deadline to the end of the summer to allow candidates every opportunity to submit an application for this award.

Airbus Group and the GEDC are looking for candidates who have made a measurable difference in increasing diversity amongst engineering students and/or graduates. Three successful finalists will be invited to attend the WEEF & GEDC Conference in Seoul, Korea, from the 6-10 November 2016. The recipient of the award will receive 10,000 USD and the two runners up will each receive 1,500 USD.

Do you know someone who deserves this recognition? We would appreciate your support to spread news of the Award with your network, or with any individual you feel could be a relevant candidate.

The application form, guidelines and material can be downloaded from the following link: https://file.ac/DQKavQI7BBI/

The GEDC Airbus Diversity Award promotes diversity in engineering. It recognises the people and projects worldwide which have encouraged students of all profiles and backgrounds to study and succeed in engineering. Together, Airbus Group and the GEDC want to shine a light on good practice around the world and to inspire others to replicate successful initiatives in their own institutions.

More information on the award, news on previous recipients and details on how to apply can be found here.

Many thanks for your support with this important initiative.

Kind regards,

The GEDC Airbus Diversity Award Team

Thank you to all who tweeted and blogged to get the word out to the public. Good luck to all who are applying this year!
