I am constantly striving to find balance. I love my work and believe that I am on a mission to help students to transform their visions and dreams into realities. I am dedicated to this mission, and I am constantly trying to find ways to rest and to rejuvenate! Relaxation includes spending time with family, making pancakes and waffles (any time of the day or night), and working on improving my Spanish. Our Robinson Family Reunion constitutes a national holiday in my eyes. As my brother says, “it’s in our blood.” My students always tell me that I need to take a break. They’ve even brought me books on relaxation, candles, and gardening guides! (Such thoughtfulness!) I would love to spend more time on the beach and hope to have some days to relax with sand and water in the near future.
I work with the College Connections group at Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries in Baltimore. http://mountpleasant.org/ and when I am in able to participate, I spend time with the Deaf Ministry. I come from a singing family, so I especially enjoy both singing and signing the Praise and Worship songs. I often write about hope and faith. Many of these thoughts are reflected in my posts. I am a graduate of the MasterLife Class and serve with my husband who is a deacon and teacher at our church. My (late) father, George C. Garrison, Jr., was the Assistant Minister of Music of our church, Calvary Baptist in New Jersey. He produced some albums in the 1970’s under the Savoy Label with the family group in Philadelphia.
