At the end of 2017, I had the opportunity to visit colleagues in Peru in preparation for our 2018 Latin and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions (LACCEI) conference. In 2018, I will again lead the Women in STEM forum with the Organization of American States, and will have a team of scholars from Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia, and the US.
For this December 2017 event, I met with the Vice Rector of Research of La Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, and the leader of El Instituto Nacional de Investigación y Capacitación de Telecomunicaciones – INICTEL, UNI’s telecommunications laboratory. I am looking forward to working with these leaders and their colleagues as we prepare for our conference in July 2018.
