As I share my article in Computing Research News, Expanding the Pipeline: PROMISE Brings a New Phase of #ThinkBigDiversity to Maryland Grad Students, I also celebrate our PROMISE alums and mentees. Representing mentees in this photo are two of our PROMISE alums, Dr. Frances Carter-Johnson (now at the National Science Foundation), and Dr. Patricia Ordóñez (Computer Science Faculty at the University of Puerto Rico Río Piedras).
This photo was taken in September 2016, following the workshop on graduate funding. Thank you to Patti, Frances, for their seminar, thank you to all of the alumni who give back, and to all of the mentees over the years for your participation in our programs — you are the successes.
