I still don’t know how many of my friends are doing in Puerto Rico. Being separated from general social media here in China has me continuing to wonder if they are ok. My blog posts can be seen on Twitter, but I can’t access it directly (I don’t have access to Facebook, Gmail, etc.) I have faith that they have survived Hurricane Maria. I’ve worked and lived in Puerto Rico, and have continuing projects with colleagues, friends, and adopted family. I was able to hear from many of them who lived in the center of the island last week, but I am still wondering about friends on the western side of the island. As we follow the lead of partners such as CienciaPR, and alumni from PROMISE, I share information that was shared with me: Use information from Unidos Por Puerto Rico (United for Puerto Rico) http://unidosporpuertorico.com/– information available in English and Spanish.
Before I left the USA, I had some updated information posted on my Facebook page. When I return, I will learn more, and see how I can share news. We also pray for our friends and neighbors who have been hit by the earthquakes in Mexico, and hope that there continue to be survivors!
