This weekend, I enjoyed participating in two events:
1) “Primer foro sobre publicaciones academicas de la Universidad Metropolitana” with faculty (I served on the panel, and listened to outcomes from a PROMISE workshop that we gave in PR in May.
2) Research Symposium for Students, sponsored by NSF and the Ana G. Mendez University System. It was my pleasure to lead the Graduate School Forum again this year, to moderate and judge an oral research session, and to “medal” the undergraduate poster winners!
I’m pictured below with Lic. Patricia Ramírez and Professor Yanilda Rodríguez at the lunch following Friday’s forum.
The Primer foro sobre publicaciones academicas de la Universidad Metropolitana was sponsored by UMET’s Oficina del Rector (Dr. Carlos Padín), Centro de Publicaciones (Directora, Dra. Evelyn Garcia) – Proyecto Título V Campus II (Department of Education). The Writing for Publication Workshop was developed under the auspices of the National Science Foundation’s PROMISE: Maryland’s Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP), based on the structure of the PROMISE Dissertation House.
“Writing for Publication” goes on the road – Puerto Rico Sessions: May 17-19 w/ UMBC’s Dr. Kevin Omland
